3D Printer

In Summer 2020, Rutherford County Library System purchased a new 3D printer for patron use at the Rutherford County Library, located at 255 Callahan Koon Road in Spindale, NC. The Flashforge Creator Pro Dual Extrusion printer is a FDM/FFF (Fused Deposition Modeling/Fused Filament Fabrication) printer that uses spools of plastic filament to build 3D objects. The printer has a build volume of 8 in. long x 5 in. wide x 5 in. high so it can easily create figurines, models, cell phone cases, and other small items.
To use the library’s 3D printer, you will first need a model file in STL or OBJ format. These files can be objects you created using software such as Tinkercad or downloaded from sites like Thingiverse or MyMiniFactory (all of these sites are free to use). After you have your model file saved on a flash drive, call Kenneth (828-287-6327) to set up an appointment.
