NC Reads Book Club for April 2023: Money Rock: A Family’s Story of Cocaine, Race, and Ambition in the New South by Pam Kelley

“The story of Belton Lamont Platt, nicknamed Money Rock, and of a striving African American family, swept up and transformed by the 1980s cocaine epidemic. This gripping tale, populated with characters both big-hearted and flawed, shows how social forces and public policies – racism, segregation, the War on Drugs, mass incarceration – help shape individual destinies.” (Description provided by NC Reads)

Adults ages 18+ are invited to participate in the April 2023 NC Reads Book Club featuring the non-fiction book Money Rock: A Family’s Story of Cocaine, Race, and Ambition in the New South by Pam Kelley. Book club participants will receive a complimentary copy of the book and engage in an in-person book discussion at County Library on Thursday, April 27 at 5:00PM. Due to a limited supply of books, registration for the book club is required.
